A Beach at the Heart of a Naturist Village
The beach stretches nearly two kilometers of fine sand, directly in front of the naturist district of Cap d'Agde. This area is one of the largest naturist villages in the world, where you can live nude from morning till night, whether on the beach or in the streets, shops, and restaurants. You can find the beach's details, including a map and photos, here: Cap d'Agde Naturist Beach.
How to Access
- By car: The naturist district is located to the east of Cap d'Agde. Entry is through a welcome center, which charges a fee during the season for day visitors. Rates change each year, so check them before you arrive.
- By train: Agde train station is about ten minutes away by car or bus.
- By plane: The nearest airports are Béziers Cap d'Agde and Montpellier.
When to Go?
The season runs from spring to autumn. July and August are the busiest months, with a very crowded beach. June and September offer warm waters and much more tranquility. Outside of the season, many shops in the district close.
Rules to Follow
- Nudity is mandatory: Staying dressed, especially to observe others, is frowned upon.
- No photos of strangers: Taking pictures of nude individuals without their consent is prohibited.
- No sexual acts on the beach: The far end of the beach has long had a libertine reputation, but it remains a public space. Controls are frequent, and sexual behaviors are penalized.
- A towel to sit on and strong sun protection: The Mediterranean sun can be unforgiving.
Naturism and Libertinism: Two Worlds Coexisting
Cap d'Agde is also one of the European capitals of libertinism. Encounters happen in designated establishments, not on the beach. If that’s what you’re looking for, check out the libertine clubs in Agde and libertine saunas in Agde, complete with addresses, hours, and maps.
