Swingers saunas in the UK: Darlaston, Newport and London
Sauna-based swingers' clubs in the West Midlands and Wales, and a mixed naturist spa in north London: how a swingers sauna works in the UK, with our 3 addresses.

A swingers sauna mixes the relaxed side of a spa with the social side of a swingers' club: steam, warm water, a bar and a crowd of open-minded adults. In the UK the format is less common than the classic club night, and our map lists 3 addresses. Here is what each one offers and how to prepare a first visit.
Chameleons Darlaston
Near Walsall in the West Midlands, Chameleons Darlaston is a sauna-based swingers' club for couples and singles. The club publishes a calendar of themed parties, from Halloween and masquerade nights to Christmas events. Some nights are for couples and single women only, others for bisexual members, so check the calendar before you go. The club is closed on Tuesdays.
Chameleons Newport
Chameleons Newport is the Welsh club of the same group, in central Newport. It opens on Friday nights for couples, single women and single men, with a bar. Membership of the Darlaston club also gives access here, which makes it easy to try both.

Rio's Health Spa, London
In Kentish Town, Rio's is a mixed naturist spa for over-21s, known in north London as a meeting place for open-minded adults. It has three steam rooms, two saunas, three jacuzzis, a plunge pool, relaxation lounges and a garden, and no membership is required.
How a swingers sauna works
- Arrival: you pay at reception, get a towel and a locker key, then shower before using the facilities.
- Dress: a towel in shared areas is the norm; naturist venues expect guests to be undressed in the wet areas.
- Pace: most guests start at the bar or in the jacuzzi. Nobody has to do anything; many come just to relax and chat.
- Themed nights: the calendar decides who can attend and when. Couples-only and singles nights are common.

Etiquette and consent
- Ask before you touch, and accept a "no" straight away.
- A hand placed on a shoulder can be politely moved away: that is a clear answer.
- No phones or cameras in the spa areas.
- Couples agree on their own rules before arriving and stick to them.
- Shower between sessions, drink water and take breaks.
Tips for a first visit
- Read the club's website for the day's theme, opening hours and entry rules.
- Go on a quieter weeknight if you want a calm first look.
- Take flip-flops and a small toiletry bag; towels are usually provided.
- Leave valuables at home or in your locker.
