In the dunes of Merville-Franceville-Plage at the mouth of the Orne, La Redoute beach is described by the Cabourg Pays d'Auge tourist office as the only naturist beach in Calvados. It is reached by dune paths, and signs and flags mark out the area. The beach is unsupervised, and swimming is dangerous because of currents and the tide.
