Open since the mid-1980s on South Great George's Street in Dublin 2, The George is one of the landmark venues of Ireland's LGBTQ+ scene. Its weekly programme mixes drag queens, contests, live music and DJs, including the Monday night Win, Lose or Drag, and it has launched several nationally known drag acts. It was voted Best Bar in Dublin by the public at the 2025 Irish Bar of the Year Awards.
